A family with a sense of contemporary
Diglas am Markt is run by Elisabeth and Markus Schneider-Diglas. The two are no newcomers to the gastro scene. The couple has been successfully running Meierei Diglas in Türkenschanzpark for years. That’s probably where their sense of Grätzel business comes from. Or rather: Grätzel hospitality.
The two have lovingly transformed the former butcher’s shop on Gersthofer Markt into a bistro with breakfast coffee, lunch and take-away. Their credo: “It has to taste good, it has to be fresh, it has to be regional.” You won’t find strawberries in winter or Kobe steak flown in from Japan.
Diglas am Markt serves home-style Viennese and Austrian cuisine made from regional ingredients and from suppliers with whom it has a genuine partnership. The dishes for lunch are freshly cooked, the pastries come from the in-house bakery, and the coffee is roasted in-house.
Taste it. Don’t waste it.
